Jim Petersen

James (Jim) Petersen has been a Portland resident and member of Trinity for 11 years. Since coming to Trinity, he has served as a Cathedral Verger for ten years, the Arts Committee, and  as the LGBTQIA+ Liaison/Contact.
A Seattle native, Jim's affiliation with the Episcopal Church began as a youth acolyte at Epiphany Parish while attending and graduating from The Bush School. After graduating from Cornell University, Jim attended Church of the Ascension in New York City where he served in various roles including Acolyte, Head Usher, Lay Reader, Vestry member, and Diocesan Delegate (Diocese of California).
Following a return to Seattle, Jim continued his service as a Vestry member, Acolyte, Usher, and Dean's Search Committee at St. Mark's Cathedral. Pursuant to a relocation to San Francisco, Jim discovered St. Gregory of Nyssa Episcopal Church and took on leadership roles as a Deacon/Verger, Lay Reader, and Vestry Junior Warden. Moving over to Grace Cathedral, Jim served eight years as a Cathedral Verger, President of the Congregation Council (preceding Alan Murray), and as a Diocesan Delegate (DioCal).
Professionally, Jim is the Director of Risk Management for Xperience Brokerage Network at Keller Williams, overseeing the professional real estate activities of over 600 agents/brokers across four Market Centers in western Oregon. He is licensed in Oregon and Washington.
