About the Event
The short, simple chants of the community in Taizé, France, are written to be sung together in a group, as a form of communal prayer. The meditative, visceral, haunting quality of the music and the repetition of sacred words creates a deep quiet space for connecting with the Spirit. We will sing several Taizé chants together, with periods of silence and a chance to learn more about the Taizé community and this profoundly intimate style of prayer and meditation. (In person; led by Finn Buckley)

About the presenter: Finn Buckley was a parish music director for twenty-two years and served as the chief music minister for Anamchara Fellowship - an Episcopal monastic community - for ten years. As a teacher of musical spirituality, he brings a warm and accessible style, allowing people of any ability and spiritual inclination to engage the sacred in song. His love of music extends beyond the church, including being a solo bagpiper, a composer, and the tuba player in a local all-queer antifascist brass band. He lives in Portland, Oregon with his husband AJ and their two large unruly dogs.
