About the Event
(Hybrid; led by Corbet Clark) From Puritans to Civil Rights preachers, Protestants of all stripes have been trying to shape the United States to their ideals.
We will explore some of these efforts, from Puritans to abolitionists to crusaders for moral reform, from fundamentalists to civil rights activists, examining both progressive and conservative movements and asking how they used their understanding of Christian teaching to try to shape and reshape the Constitution and achieve political and social goals.
