Joining the Trinity staff in April 2012, Gardner is responsible for maintaining and overseeing all the buildings and grounds at Trinity, as well as overseeing a sexton staff. Raised Episcopalian, Gardner and his family attended Christ and St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Norfolk, Virginia where he sang in the boy's choir and served as an acolyte. Gardner has a son, daughter-in-law and two grandsons, ages 2 & 5. When he is not at work or spending time with his family, Gardner enjoys sailing the Columbia River on his 37-foot Tayana sailboat. In addition to sailing, Gardner also enjoys volunteering with the Trauma Intervention Program (TIP), a national program whose volunteers help survivors of severe trauma. He also serves the City of Portland as a volunteer in the case of a major earthquake.
