Fred Jeibmann

Frederick R. Jeibmann was born and raised in Portland Oregon. He attended Madison High School in Portland, Clark College in Vancouver and Oregon State University. At OSU he studied Ornamental Horticulture and Greenhouse Management. After college he enlisted in the Army and spent three years with the U.S. Army Finance Corp in Frankfurt, Germany. Upon leaving the Army he returned home where he became a third generation Nurseryman in the Family Business. The nursery became known as Portland Nursery and Fred became the General Manager when his father retired in 1975. During this period Fred was active in the American Association of Nurserymen and in 1980 he was elected as President of The Oregon Association of Nursery’s. In 1989 the Nursery was sold and Fred went to work for one of the larger nurseries in Oregon. There he served as Sales and Marketing Manager until he retired in 2004.
Over the years, Fred and his wife Laura had been looking for a church that they could call their spiritual home. In 1999 Laura passed away and Fred began looking for that church. In 2000 he walked into Trinity Episcopal Cathedral on Palm Sunday and he has been at home there ever since. After a year of attending services he decided that he wanted to become more active at Trinity and the food pantry looked like a good place to start. When Fred retired in 2004, he found he had a lot more time on his hands and he was asked if he would be willing to take charge of the Food Pantry operation. Since then Fred has been very active in Trinity’s Food Ministries and also serves as Head Usher for Special Events. In addition to his activities at Trinity, Fred has also served as President and Board member of Lift Urban Portland.
