Altar Guild

Do you know who prepares and sets up for the Holy Eucharist? The Altar Guild’s ministry touches everyone who worships at Trinity. With reverence, joy, and caring we prepare for all the services and rituals in this beautiful and sacred place. From vessels to vestments, weddings to funerals, Sundays to high holy days, we “set the table” and care for everything that is needed for the Eucharist. If you are looking for a meaningful commitment at Trinity, the Altar Guild may be your answer. No experience needed. For more information, email This email address is being protected from spambots. Flower Guild

The Flower Guild welcomes people interested in choosing and arranging the flowers at the altar, side altar and in the chapel almost every Sunday. The members have fun together and no special training is necessary. New members are paired with more experienced ones to learn on the job. Membership in the Flower Guild is flexible as members sign up for the dates they wish to work. Members decide together when to shop and when to arrange the flowers. They also share tasks: picking up flowers, soaking oasis, choosing vases. Saturday morning is the preferred time to arrange for Sunday service, but other days and times are possible.

Three times a year the Guild does beautiful, large displays. For Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas more planning and more workers are needed. Each holiday has a chairman who plans the display and orders materials along with the Guild Chairman. Everyone pitches in to arrange the flowers, plants and vegetables.

Guild members communicate by email and we have no regular meetings. We usually have one social gathering a year. For more information, email This email address is being protected from spambots. Greeters Guild

The Trinity Greeters Guild consists of parishioners who greet the congregation each Sunday from 9:40 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. They work in groups of four, standing at the two primary Cathedral doors before Sunday services. Each person is asked to serve about four times a year. Substitutions are easily made from within the group. For more information, email This email address is being protected from spambots. History Guild

Meet after Sunday services when needed.
The History Guild preserves the historical information the Cathedral has accumulated over the years. We promote an increased understanding of our history as evidenced by the production of the book The History of Trinity Cathedral: Fulfilling the Promise last year (available in the Trinity Bookstore). The main project for the coming year will be continuing to catalogue the existing collection and doing some reorganization, since the History office moved this summer to the Glisan Suite. Volunteers are welcome. For more information, email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or call 503-224-5774.

Lectors Guild

Lay Eucharistic Ministry Guild

Our mission is to support the liturgy at all appropriate times through administration of the sacramental wine during communion. We are commissioned to support the clergy in communicating the sacraments. Becoming a LEM is by invitation, but all “members in good standing” are welcome to identify their interests to the coordinator. The bishop, upon recommendation by the clergy, licenses LEMs. For more information, email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Martha’s Guild

An informal group of women interested in needlework and other handcrafts, some of which are sold at the annual Christmas Bazaar. Funds from the sale of Berta Bags and the Christmas Bazaar are used for various chosen projects, both inside and outside of Trinity. All are invited to our gatherings every Tuesday, from 10:00 a.m. to Noon in the Morrison Room. Bring your handwork project and a sense of humor! Many of us go out to lunch together afterwards at neighborhood restaurants. For more information, email This email address is being protected from spambots. Ushers' Guild

There are seven Usher teams with each headed up by a captain and the Head Usher. The current total number of ushers is 52. All scheduled and special Eucharist services are assigned an usher team, Team Captain and Head Usher. Ushers serve at the 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. services, Church @ the Commons, special services and concerts held throughout the year. In addition to scheduled events, Ushers are often requested to serve at weddings and funerals. Usher responsibilities include greeting parishioners, handing out service leaflets at the beginning of each service, collecting the offering, holding the aisles during communion, providing general information and general duties to assist with maintaining an orderly, distraction free service. The primary role of the ushers is to provide hospitality to parishioners and visitors alike in order to enhance the worship experience of all.
